Internship Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs

What you get

The Ministry of External Affairs offers 75 internships a year, from April to June, to bring foreign policy closer to people. Interns get Rs 10,000 a month, one return economy air fare between their state capital and Delhi, work on topics given by a division head, and may visit an Indian mission abroad. Candidates from aspirational districts and SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates get priority, and the programme aims for diversity in gender and region.

Who can apply

Indian citizens with a graduate degree, or final-year students whose course requires an internship, aged 25 or less on 31 December of the internship year.

How to apply

Register and apply on the MEA internship portal (internship.mea.gov.in) with your details and documents. Selection is by preliminary screening on class 12 and graduation marks, then a personal interview.
