Updated on 16 Oct 2026
What you get
A centrally sponsored mission of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare that spreads chemical-free natural farming through clusters of at least 50 hectares formed in Gram Panchayats. Trained farmers from each cluster attend awareness meetings and training at Krishi Vigyan Kendras, agricultural universities and local natural farming institutions, start natural farming on part of their land, and turn their farms into demonstration farms where they train 6 more farmers. Each trained farmer receives an output-based incentive of Rs 4,000 per acre per year for two years, for up to one acre, in four instalments of Rs 2,000 into an Aadhaar-authenticated bank account - for preparing inputs such as Beejamrut and Jeevamrut, buying drums and containers or inputs from Bio-input Resource Centres, keeping livestock and practices such as pre-monsoon dry sowing. The mission was approved for the 15th Finance Commission period, up to 2025-26.
Who can apply
Farmers who live in a Gram Panchayat where a natural farming cluster is formed and are willing to practise natural farming on a portion of their land, attend awareness meetings, training and demonstrations, and train and support 6 more farmers. Each cluster enrols 125 trained farmers.
How to apply
Farmers are enrolled through the clusters that the state agriculture department forms in Gram Panchayats. Ask your Gram Panchayat, the Krishi Sakhi or agriculture officials of your block, or the nearest Krishi Vigyan Kendra whether your village has a natural farming cluster.
