Updated on 16 Oct 2026
What you get
The Bihar Department of Agriculture's input subsidy for farmers whose crops are damaged by more than 33% by floods or heavy rain, when rivers such as the Ganga and Kosi rise. It pays Rs 8,500 a hectare for rain-fed crops, Rs 17,000 a hectare for irrigated crops and Rs 22,500 a hectare for perennial crops, with a minimum of Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively, into the farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account. The department opens applications for each disaster it notifies, for the affected panchayats only.
Who can apply
Farmers in the panchayats the department notifies as affected, registered on the Bihar agriculture DBT portal, with a bank account linked to Aadhaar. Farmers who cultivate someone else's land qualify once the Agriculture Coordinator and Farmer Advisor jointly certify them as the actual cultivators.
